2026 World Cup Qualifier: Zimbabwe unveils 28-man provisional squad for Super Eagles clash

The Zimbabwe Football Association( ZIFA) on Wednesday released the list of players that will prosecute their opening round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Zimbabwe returned to international football about 3 months ago after spending over 18 months under the ban by FIFA.

Zimbabwe head coach, Baltemar list consists of 28 players, and 16 of them are based outside the shores of Africa while the rest play in the South African Premier League.

Brito held a four-day camp last month to assess the players ahead of the qualifiers.

The coach and his staff worked with 20 players through 4 extensive training sessions, including a training game with a Northern region soccer league select.

Zimbabwe will face Rwanda in Huye in the opening game of the qualifier before facing the Super Eagles in the second game at the same venue.

Zimbabwe have never played at the World Cup.
