Arsenal have completed the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton in a deal that would eventually be worth £27million.
Mikel Arteta has been eager to strengthen his attacking options as the Gunners pursue a first Premier League title since 2004, missing out on Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined arch rival Chelsea.
Brighton will receive a guaranteed figure of around £20m with the remaining £7m made up of achievable incentives.
The 28-year-old’s contract runs until 2027 and has the option of being extended by a year. He has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 16 top-flight games for Brighton this season.
Trossard, who made three appearances for Belgium at the 2022 World Cup, will wear number 19 for Arsenal, previously worn by Nicolas Pepe.
However Trossard could be in the Arsenal squad to face Manchester United in a pivotal clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with the league leader revealing they had submitted all of the necessary paperwork to the Premier League.
